After announcing their switch to Yamaha machinery for the 2022 MotoAmerica Twins Cup season, Pure Attitude Racing have concluded their first shakedown test aboard the R7.

Running completely ‘stock’ motors and suspension, riders Liam MacDonald and Trevor Standish were able to blow off the winter cobwebs at the Daytona International Speedway, the venue for the opening round of their 2022 campaign in early March.

Boasting big smiles, both riders expressed their satisfaction and optimism for the season ahead after their final lap of the test and look forward to hitting the track again in the coming weeks prior to lights out for Round 1.

Liam MacDonald:
“The bike felt really good immediately, even though it was completely stock. It felt familiar and the performance was really promising. Even though I wasn’t pushing, the top speed was impressive, and it handled superbly. This bodes well, and I am excited for the season ahead and to go back to Daytona with a full spec Yamaha YZF R7 underneath me. It was great to see my Pure Attitude Crew again and to start this new bLU cRU journey with Trevor. I’ve been working hard on my physical fitness and am really confident at what we can achieve this season.”

Trevor Standish:
“It was a great day for riding, and I had an absolute blast riding my new Yamaha YZF R7 at Daytona. It was my first-time riding at Daytona which has always been a bucket list track for me. I’ve grown up going to Daytona but never ridden it and so it was quite an experience to ride the banking for the first time. We took the first couple of sessions nice and easy as we were bedding everything in so weren’t really pushing. The bike was stock from head to toe but it was worthwhile us being back on track so early in the new year. I am really looking forward to riding the bike again when it’s fully kitted and race ready and I cannot wait for the season to start.”
